DECISION IS IN!!!

The judge found in my favor for Social Security Disability Insurance benefits. It will take 2 or 3 months, with a little paperwork for the Social Security Administration, before I receive any benefits. Just knowing that they will be coming is awesome!!! Thank you to all who prayed for me. Thank you, Lord!!

Moving Your Car

When my mother was close to giving birth to me the doctor left her, on a gurney, in a hallway to move his car so he wouldn't get a parking ticket. He told her to cross her legs and don't push. The cord was wrapped around my neck, which he already knew. Once he left, a midwife who was working with the doctor told my mother to push and I was born in the hallway. The doctor did not come back for 15 or 20 minutes and was angry that I had been born. However, if that wonderful, wise midwife had not delivered me it is very likely that I would have had brain damage. There are some that think I do - LOL!

Funny Story

John and I met on June 17, 1978. We married just a wee bit less than 6 months later. Rash decision? Yes. Right decision? Best I ever made. Yesterday John left 2 tiny little easels out for me when he left for work. One said, as you can see, "Happy 35th Anniversary" (of our meeting) and the other, "I love you". How sweet, thoughtful, romantic. All day long we were talking about having met 35 years ago and then, just after getting into bed to go to sleep, we realized it was 34 years. Math is obviously not our strong suit.

Flag Day

Yesterday was Flag Day and our 'Stars and Stripes' are still flying. Proud to be Americans!

Have a super weekend and Happy Father's Day to all fathers.

Murals

These are murals in the parking garage where John parks everyday at work. What a joy to see these each day. Love the '50s style drive-in. Sometimes people complain about murals, especially on the outside walls of buildings; personally, I think they are awesome and certainly real art like this should be encouraged. There is a third one - however, I have been unable to upload it - tried many time, no luck. :o(

Hearing

My representative, for the SSDI hearing, says everything went very well; I agree. The judge was very nice and interacted with me in a very positive way. There was also a witness there, a vocational expert. This witness does not know me, my rep, or the judge. He was there to give testimony about my job skills, qualifications, and experience and whether I would be able to find a position and work based on the two kinds of vertigo which I have. The conclusions made during the hearing were that I would be unable to go back to doing what I used to do because I cannot work on a computer for any length of time (boy, is that true) and that even if I found any kind of job I would probably be terminated within the first month for absenteeism. So, we wait now. It will take about two months for me to receive the judge's decision (that is what she told us). I am just happy that it is over - stress just makes vertigo worse.

Have a great weekend!

SSDI Hearing

Thursday, late afternoon, I will be having my hearing for Social Security Disability Insurance benefits. I have been unable to work since October, 2009 and had applied for SSDI benefits over 2 years ago and been turned down three times. This is my 'last stand'; I have been waiting for a hearing for over a year and a half. More and more people have been applying, in the last year or so, for SSDI so more people are now being turned down and others (who, apparently, should not get it) are receiving it. Please pray that I do receive the benefits; it would be nice if John did not have to work 60 to 80 hours (7 days a week) just to make up for my missing income.

Coyan Family Photo

This photo was taken several months ago; finally received it this week. So sweet. We can hardly wait to see them. They will be in the States the third week of this month and will be to us at the end of the second week of July for a nine day visit. It has been three years since we last saw them (in person - thank God for Skype) - way too long.

We will also see the LeClair Clan at the end of summer for a few days. Can hardly wait to see them also.

Love them all so very much.

Have a terrific weekend.
