Tonsilectomy and Adnoidectomy Done!!

Marcelle had the surgery early on Friday morning.  She was released on Saturday morning.  The surgeon said all went well.  She is doing just fine and we are so thankful.  She called us Sunday and told us all kinds of stories about what happened in the hospital and other delightful tales of her toys, etc... What fun and happiness to have your granddaughter want to talk to you that much; we were on the phone with her for about a half hour.  Love this little one as we love our other two dear granddaughters, Bekah and Roxie.

Above photo is the nurse removing Marcelle's IV (boy, was she happy - she had pulled out the original in recovery and had to have this one put in) on Saturday before her discharge.

Christmas AND SURGERY

Here are photos of Flo, my mother-in-law, and Simon, my brother-in-law, on Christmas Day at their Assisted Living facility.  John went and gave them gifts and had a wonderful Christmas Lunch with them.  Unfortunately, I was too dizzy to go with him.  We Skyped with both Krista and family and Misha and family which was awesome.

**********Please pray for Misha and Alan's four year old daughter, Marcelle.  Our littlest granddaughter has sleep apnea and is having her tonsils and adenoids removed at 7:30a.m. pacific time this morning.  Please pray for a successful and uneventful surgery followed by a swift, smooth recovery.  Thank you**********

Jesus is the reason we celebrate Christmas.  It is so easy to forget when we are shopping for gifts, planning parties, attending parties, opening our gifts, etc...  Please remember why we celebrate.

The Perfect Gift

Some people are very difficult to buy for; either they want to have cash or gift cards or they have everything.  But, we keep on trying to figure out what to get them.  

Enjoy this last weekend before Christmas and if you haven't finished your shopping keep your eyes open for that perfect gift.

Christmas Dining Table

Just did some Christmas Decorating this weekend.  Our tiny Christmas packages and bells add to our dining table for the Christmas season.

Star Trek

I am not a convention-attending Trekkie although Krista and Danny have attended one in L.A.) but I am a Trekkie.  Love the original show, Next Generation, Star Trek Enterprise and ALL the movies - even the new ones.  Can't help myself.

Have a super weekend - we will be as we are celebrating our 35th Anniversary tomorrow. John has taken off four days that we are spending together. Really enjoying it.  Time with him is rare as he works so hard and so many hours.

Christmas Letters

We stopped sending out Christmas letters years ago; it always sounded like we were bragging.  We love to receive recent photos of people, though.  They are placed in our Scrapbook/photo albums right after Christmas.

Salute The Tree!

We don't get a big tree for Christmas anymore as the the 'kids' aren't here with us.  But...we do get a nice fresh 4 foot tree we put on a table with lights and small decorations.  It really cheers up our Christmas house.  We put out a few decorations and Christmas Starbucks Bears and we also put a fresh, pretty centerpiece on our dining room table.  The centerpiece (ordered from a farm that does beautiful wreaths, centerpieces, etc...) will be here next week and we will also buy our tree next week together.

It was only 10 degrees last night and right now (7:30 a.m.) it's only 20 - cold.  Brrr!
