No Photo/Cartoon Today

For some reason, when I try to upload a photo or cartoon to this blog my entire computer freezes. Have tried everything and the only thing that works is shutting down the computer. What a pain. Hopefully that will straighten out very soon. In the meantime:

Have a terrific weekend!!!

Flying The Coop

Not sure but I think the baby Roadrunners may have already left their nest. We'll have to check carefully, without startling mom or dad. It's so much fun to watch these birds. I think Roadrunners are so sweet. The long tail is adorable. The only thing that is not very cute is that they eat those darling little lizards - :o(. Oh well, we all have to survive, right?

Animals

One of the great things about living where we do is everywhere we look we see animals: horses, sheep, cows, goats, etc... We also see: coyotes (occasionally), roadrunners, rabbits, hares, prairie dogs, hawks, etc... We are both from big cities but love country living. No complaints here.

Babies

Are they not adorable. Baby animals, no matter what kind, are the cutest! Springtime around here is so much fun. We look in all the fields and corrals looking for all the wee ones. John always stops and takes photos of all the little guys. Even though it is almost August we still see the occasional babies. Just adorable!

Aging

So, have you ever had one of those days when getting out of a chair is an effort? Every joint aches, even very little ones? You have no energy to go to the kitchen to fill your water glass?

Going to bed really early sounds sooooo good? You can't remember what you were trying to remember? This has never happened to me - hope it hasn't to you either. Yeah, right.

Have an excellent weekend!

The Land of Missions

Travelling virtually anywhere in New Mexico you will see missions and churches. This area has so many beautiful old buildings to see. In the center of Old Town Albuquerque there is one on the square that is particularly beautiful. There are so many to see and so little time to see them; if I was able we would be driving all over the state every weekend -- but, it is not to be.

Land of Enchantment

There is something about the scenery here that really gets me. I am not a great photographer so I rarely take those kinds of photos. However, John takes hundreds and hundreds of photos of everything all the time. This is one of them. Love those colors.

We truly love living here; just wish we could transplant it all to be near our girls and their families. We miss them so much. Good news though: Misha and Marcelle will be here 2 weeks and 2 days - Yay!

The Perfect Job

As you know, I have been unable to work since October, 2009. I would love to find a job I can do at home. However, most of those available are "scams" so... Would really like to, though, so I can contribute to the household (and give John a rest) and keep myself busy. In this economy it's really difficult. You never know what will happen; I haven't given up hope.

Complaint Department

Looking back over a lot of my posts, I realized that I whine a lot. Please forgive me - I don't mean to complain at all. I am truly blessed. I am a very happy person who has a loving, devoted husband whom I love completely, two wonderful daughters I cherish, two sons-in-law I love, and three adorable granddaughters who are precious to me. What more could a woman ask for? My life is restricted but it is filled with love - I am always aware of this; each time John calls me, when he walks through the door after working so hard for us, when we Skype with Krista and Misha, when I hear Misha's voice on the phone or receive a text from her. As I said, I am truly blessed.

Negotiations

I think what is going on in Washington is a lot like this cartoon. I feel that both sides are trying to put political money in the bank rather than truly solve the problems we have. They both say they want to "fix" things and make things better for all Americans but somehow it doesn't really ring true. A lot of talk and very little action recently which was preceded by, over the last several years and two presidents, by even more talk and very expensive and damaging action. Where will it end? Your guess is as good as mine.

Have a fun weekend!

Creation

Are you a creationist or an evolutionist. Truth is evolution is still a theory and has been proven wrong many more times (many hoaxes) than proven. No one has yet to disprove creation. Whether you believe in the literal 6 days or not, there must be something before it all; whether a big bang or whatever. I know this to be God, our creator, and am grateful for Him. When I look around at our beautiful Earth I am astounded and awed by what He has made. How could this be some "accident"? Sorry, I don't buy it.

Fine Weather

We actually have received some rain; not a lot but enough to wet the ground a couple of times. The temperatures are down in mid-90's, which is normal for this time of year. Monsoon season brings clouds and there is nothing like a New Mexico clouded sky. Something I enjoy and admire every day here is the immense sky - glorious. Hope your day is "glorious" too.

Wires!!

Why are there wires everywhere? Behind our entertainment center there are wires going from the TV to the DVR, to the stereo, to the DVD player and from each of those to somewhere else and to the power strip and to the plug and to the speakers -- HELP! Oh, and in the office...more wires all over the place from and to everywhere. When is all this going to be wireless??????????? You can't dust wires properly (even if I could do that bending over without getting dizzy) so dust bunnies rule!!! Just had to vent.

My Only Comment

My only comment about Casey Anthony is the possibility, and a very high one, of her making a huge amount of money over the next few years: interviews (does someone really believe she will say anything truthful), book fees and profits, and movie rights. I mean, really, should she really be able to profit from her daughter's death? Obscene! 'Nuf said!

Legal Update

Pretty much there is nothing new; still waiting for two doctors reports. My lawyer tells me it will take a very long time to file lawsuit, etc... should we get good reports. So, I have decided to not get into it, on my blog, anymore 'til there is something concrete to tell you. It is quite stressful to think about all the time so from now on there will be one phone call to my lawyer per month just to check on the status of everything and that's it.

Hope you all have a super fun weekend!!

Easily Broken

Something I have learned from two sisters, my dear departed niece, Tori, my precious daughter, Krista, my dearest mother-in-law, Flo, my dear departed father-in-law, John, my loving brother-in-law, Douglas, my adorable brother-in-law Simon, my sweet departed parents, and myself is that we are all "breakable". We take so very much for granted without realizing that, medically speaking, so very much can go wrong. Please don't get me wrong, I am not complaining or whining just reminding. Whatever you can do - do. Whatever you can enjoy - enjoy. Whomever you can love - love. Life is fragile.

New Mexico Sunrise

Very short blog this morning as I am taking my brother-in-law, Simon, to the dentist. Nothing serious, just a follow-up appointment. Still no rain here although we have clouds every day - monsoon season has begun - but no rain. We need the rain here, desperately.

Coyan Clan Update

These are yearbook photos taken at the school the girls attend, Krista teaches full-time, and Danny teaches part-time. Bekah is thirteen and a half and Roxie is 10. I am so happy to have these recent photos and have asked Krista to have a friend take a group photo of them. Skyping is awesome and I am most grateful that it exists. Having photos is awesome too. Love these sweeties.
