Internship - A Solution To Unemployment

It was recently stated that internships would be a great way to turn our economy around.  You pay the intern $35,000 per year -- take the tax credit for that full amount - the employee pays taxes to the IRS and state, spends money in the community, and learns a business.  Good for government, good for company (gets work from the intern at no cost) and, hopefully, at the end of the internship the intern will be so valuable he/she will get hired.  Win - Win - Win!

New Master Bathroom!

Before photo of mirror over vanity.
After photo of mirror over vanity.  The hearts were a surprise
for me, from John, on Valentine's Day.
Before photo of vanity.
After photo of new vanity and new chair.
Before of floor and Garden Tub.
After of new floor (tile) and step in for new shower.  This is
only a four inch step over for me to get into the shower.
Sometimes I could not take a shower as stepping into the
Garden Tub made me dizzier.
Before of huge window that we could not open and made
the shower cold besides being ugly.
After - our beautiful shower wall and window that we can
open for ventilation, when it is warm enough - just use the
ventilating fan all the time anyway.
We just love our new bathroom, especially the shower.  Our contractor, David, did a great job.  It was something we really needed to do even though it was certainly not in the budget but we had to get it done so I was safer in the shower.  Thanks, David!

Basketball Season

It's that time of year - in a week or so - all the NBA fans will be gathered around their TV sets, with beer and snacks, to watch their favorite teams play.  I, personally, do not watch any of it - not even the finals - neither does John, but for those of you who do:  Have A Blast!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

A little early, I know, but I didn't want to miss it by saying it in Friday's blog.

Remember to let your loved ones know that you love them. Of course, you should try and do that every day in some way: with words, a touch, a hug, ...

Seattle Seahawks Win Superbowl!

What a great game.  I think the Broncos either went into the game too confidently (after all the media was naming Manning as MVP for the last 2 weeks) or they were worried as the Seahawks had previously beaten them 40 to 10.  Sad for the Broncos but a first Championship win for the Seahawks.  Congratulations!
