Budget Woes

Everyone is cinching in their belts.  Cost of medical has gone up so much that businesses are passing along some of the expense to their employees others have cut back on employee work hours so that they do not qualify for medical, dental etc...  This is truly a shame as more people are going to lose their coverage than will gain it.  Those not working will have 'free' coverage while others who work will have none or will have to pay more for it.  Does this sound better to you?  I think not.

Kindle Fire HD

Wow!  I just love my Kindle Fire HD.  It is awesome.  I can check my email, Facebook, watch movies (they can go on our TV), videos, go to the 'library' and borrow a book (with no return date) each month.  I can also buy books, music, etc... I have Amazon Prime so a lot of what is available is due to that membership.  Anyway, I love it and very happy I spent my anniversary, Christmas, and birthday money/gifts on it.  Thank you all!

Had a great birthday weekend. Had nice 3 days with John (he took Friday off). Got to Skype with Misha, Marcelle, Krista, Bekah, and Roxie. Really great weekend!

Tomorrow I will officially be a 'senior citizen'.  Yikes!!!!  Good thing I don't feel that age inside.  Wish I could keep all the wisdom and experience I have and trade the body in for when I was 30.  Alas, not possible.

Ballerina

Marcelle in her ballet 'togs' waiting to leave for her very first ballet class.  According to Misha, she loved the class.  I hope that continues - ballet is awesome!

Snow?

We have had one snow flurry so far this year which only lasted a couple of hours on the ground.  We have very cold weather but it just never snows.  There is a chance for snow today - keeping my fingers crossed.

Ballet Girl

Marcelle is fascinated by ballet.  She will watch anything ballet by the hour.  She will now be attending ballet classes.  The photo above is the day they bought her first ballet slippers.  This all brings back so many memories for me:  I took ballet for 11 years; from age 4 to 15.  When I was little it was so much fun - loved the leotard, tights, and ballet slippers...and dance. As I grew older it was very disciplined - hit on the backs of my knees with a cane, etc...  I still loved to dance but I was not meant to be, nor desired to be, a ballet dancer.  It taught me a lot and I am thankful for all those years.  I hope Marcelle loves dance as much as her two grandmothers did when young.
