Sometimes I wish I had an IPad so I could access all the neat Apps that are available. Medical info, books, etc... I guess most of them aren't too expensive. Just a fun thought, I guess.
I find it very sad that there are so many people on welfare, food stamps, medicare, SSDI, etc... that are not eligible. Many, in fact, are knowingly committing fraud. The government is trying to find them all, but it's not easy. I have been waiting for two years to receive Social Security Disability due to my 2 types of vertigo which prevent me from working outside the home more than 10 hours per week (sometimes a lot less on a bad week- as per the rehabilitation people here). I have been turned down 3 times and have, for more than a year, been waiting for a hearing date before an SSDI judge. The reason the wait has been so long, I have been told by my representatives, is due to the huge number of people applying for SSDI because their unemployment ran out and they don't want to work. I never even received unemployment (nor applied for it, for that matter - I was never terminated and am still an 'employee' on unpaid leave of absence). Finally, I have a hearing date of June 7. Please pray that I am awarded SSDI benefits. This would give John a merciful reprieve from working his buns off and give us a little peace. It could take to the end of the year to receive any benefits, if I am awarded any, but just knowing they would be coming would be a comfort - the judge can take up to 3 months, after the hearing, to make a decision - rarely do they tell you at the hearing if you will be awarded benefits. Please pray. Thank you.
Mid 90's for days now. Had our contractor (he does this for us every Spring and Autumn) come to turn off our Force Air Heating system and start up our Evaporative Cooler -- however, the pump needs to be replaced, so... we will have to wait for a couple of days for him to buy the part and come back. Apparently, the temperature will fall to the mid to high 70's over the weekend and then back up. We usually don't turn our evap on until late may -- a whole month earlier this year. Been crazy weather, for sure!
Whenever you get a panel of 'pundits' together the usual result is a lot of loud talking - sometimes worse. The funny thing is, you cannot understand what is being said as they speak over one another and... none of them get their point across. Probably just as well.
Are these babies too cute or what? John cannot control himself each Spring when the babies abound. He will stop anywhere, anytime to take a photo. Judging by this one and Monday's, I think it is well worth his time, don't you?
Such a nice time of year with all the babies being born. Hopefully John will take more photos for me to post. I think some horse photos are upcoming. I love Spring but it has come too early, temperature-wise, this year - really went from Winter to early Summer in a few days. It has been cool over this weekend but we will be back into the low 80's by Wednesday.
Have been blogging for a while now and am really not sure that I will continue for much longer. Will continue to think about it and make a decision in the next few months.
I guess we have gone from Winter to Spring very rapidly. The temperature varies from mid 70's to mid 80's - what we usually experience mid-May. It has been lovely.
The photo is one John took; the tulip is in one of our front pots. It's so nice to have flowers there all the time; John loves planting bulbs. Adds so much color and happiness.
Cute cartoon. However, this weekend is a very happy weekend for those of us who believe in Jesus Christ. We commemorate His sacrifice, for us, today and on Sunday His glorious resurrection. He gave His life for us so that we might have eternal life because God loves us so very much. Praise His Name!
Nothing says it clearer than that. Albuquerque had snow most of the day yesterday. There were some parts north of here that received up to two feet of snow. We had rain all day. Wow! It was 80 degrees on the weekend; the high yesterday was mid 40's. Crazy! We are supposed to be back up to the mid 70's by this weekend. Sorry no photo -- could not upload anything this morning.
This photo was taken 12 years ago. Wendy and her husband, Shaun, and their two sons, Sam, the eldest, seated by his mother, and Max, standing by his dad. Shaun just posted this on Friday on Faceook. I had never seen the photo - it's awesome. So, I had to post it here. They are a great family. The 'boys' are young men now. Love this photo of all of them.
