Such Beautiful Granddaughters

We are so blessed to have such beautiful granddaughters - not only on the outside but the inside as well.  Bekah is the oldest and now 16.  Roxie is 12 1/2 and Marcelle is 4.  We love each and every one of them with all our hearts and miss them so very much.  Wish we all lived close together again - we miss having them around to 'hand out with'.

Worker Thieves

I am always amazed when I hear about employees stealing from their employers.  Having worked with people who really need jobs I would hope they realize that they would eventually get caught, fired, and, perhaps, arrested.  It is so difficult to find employment, I would think that stealing, embezzling, etc... would be the last thing on an employee's mind.  Where is the integrity? Where is the work ethic?  Don't get me started.

Be Thankful

If you have a job and your check clears each time you are paid - be thankful.  These days having a job is a major blessing.  We have huge unemployment here in New Mexico which is why I work (very part-time = 8 hours per week maximum) with the unemployed disabled trying to help them find work.  So, all of you who are employed or have some other source of income, be VERY thankful.

Starting Off The New Year

A new year has begun.  Many of us have made resolutions; some possible and others impossible to keep.  Our problem, I believe, with resolutions and keeping them is that we make too many of them.  I have done this so many years myself.  I have decided to pare down the list and make it so that I might be successful for a change.  This year I have the following resolutions:  Read through the Bible in a year ( I bought a small book which guides me through the process.  I have been enjoying the journey very much), eat better - not just so that I may lose weight but more for the good health of it, and, finally, start to move a little.  Since the first vertigo struck in December 2004 and being taken off all exercise (I was falling, etc... and doctor told me to stop including writing a letter to my gym to cancel my membership) a couple of months later I have done virtually nothing - nada - rien - in the way of movement.  This has taken it's toll:  gained back all the weight I had lost and the muscle tone that went with it.  Now, of course, I have two different vertigos and so am unable to exercise - I thought.  I found a DVD for people like me and it's supposed to help with movement without leaving my chair.  Any movement, I feel, is healthy.

So, wish me luck.  I wish you luck with whatever resolutions you have taken on.

Thumper Loves To Play

Our sweet little girl, Thumper, loves to play - especially 'fetch'.  She will run and fetch almost endlessly - well, until she 'poops out' and 'crashes'.  She has a ton of energy.  She is a real cutie - we are so happy we adopted her.  We have had her for almost a year now.  It was a very good decision.

Have a great weekend!

Snow Beauty

This is a photo taken recently of White River Junction, Vermont.  It is on the way to Montreal.  It is the very essence of New England in Winter.  Absolutely gorgeous.  Haven't been to New England in such a long time but this photo certainly brings up very fond memories.
