Ballet Girl

Third from left is Marcelle, our granddaughter.  These little ballerinas are preparing for their recital.  All so cute in their leotards, tights, and pink ballet slippers.  This brings back so many memories of my girls and myself as a child.  Wish we were there to attend the recital.

My Nephew

This is Chris.  The photo was taken recently when he celebrated his 50th birthday.  Chris lives in Massachusetts with his wife of 20 years and his 4 children.  We haven't seen him since 1998 when my mother died.  Way too long.  Hope they will get out to New Mexico one of these days.  Love you Chris.

NEW TREES!!!

 Chisos Red Oak

Shantung Maple

We have selected new trees.  There will be three Chisos Red Oaks to replace the pine tree that we had to take down out front and the Shantung Maple will go in the back yard.  They will be delivered and planted later this week.  They are small now but both will grow 1 - 3 feet over the next year.  The oaks will have nice red leaves in Autumn (rare around here - everything is mostly yellow) and the Maple will come into the Spring with burgundy leaves.  We are very happy to have these lovely trees added to our proprerty.

Ballooning!

There are so many people hot air ballooning right now as the mornings are still cool.  Kind of fun to see one go by the house.  People are just 'mad' for it here in New Mexico.  The biggest balloon fiesta in the world is here at the beginning of every October - more than 500 hot air balloons - you should come some time!

Why Are Buffalo Wings?

I know WHAT Buffalo Wings are, I just don't know WHY.  They are tiny little wings with no 'meat' on them cooked in a bunch of BBQ sauce. You might as well just drink the sauce out of the bottle and be done with it.  Just saying.

Suggestions, Please

 

Whatever happened to suggestion boxes at places of employment or stores?  Are they afraid of what they will find on little pieces of paper?  Do they NOT want to change anything (it's our way or the highway)?  Just thinking.
